Some uncommon truths about the Holy Spirit Baptism

A white dove signifying the Holy Spirit

Most of us who have the gift of speaking in tongues will usually say we are filled with the Holy Spirit, or we have been baptized in the Holy Spirit but is that actually the right choice of words? or are we actually right when we say we are baptized in the Holy Spirit, or we want to be baptized in the Holy Spirit? Well, all of that will be exposed soon and answered in this article.

Firstly, I don’t feel we can all say we are baptized in the Holy Spirit because He comes in different  measures, we can see this in the bible where it talks about being in a river that is an ankle deep, knee deep, loins/waist deep and also when it submerges the person in the water, when it is all deep to the extent  it actually envelopes or covers the person that is when we can say we are baptized,

It is also similar to the baptism by water it is until a person is fully deep into the water before we can say the person is baptized. So, in essence we can say that we possess measures of the Holy Spirit in our life's, since it is not always the baptism of the Holy Spirit.

Now also concerning measures of the spirit, even if a person isn’t speaking in tongues or hasn’t started speaking in tongues, it doesn’t mean the person doesn’t have the Holy Spirit, it just means that the person doesn’t possess the Spirit up to the measure whereby speaking in tongues becomes evident in one’s life, As once someone accepts Jesus and gives one’s life to Christ a certain measure of the Spirit that is needed is given to that person, because we need the Spirit to do the things the Lord commanded us to do like to preach the gospel, overcome sin, and even to live the daily Christian life, This is one or if not the major reason Jesus promised to send the Comforter (which is the Holy Spirit) when He was going back to Heaven because we can’t do it alone.

Also note that even when a Christian is baptized or given a measure of the Spirit, one has to continue to abide and stay in the presence of the Lord and still be intimate with God, So as to continually have the renewal of Spirit and to even increase the measure of the Spirit in one’s life, as God desires, and knows your needs in the Spirit.

In conclusion, not everyone is baptized or continually baptized in the Holy Spirit, some have measure of the Spirit that is needed in their life, and also continue to abide and dwell in the presence of God and grow intimacy with Him, so as to have the renewal and freshness of the Spirit and even increase in the measure of the Spirit as God will’s.
