God in the Waiting Room

It is a common feeling for Christians to feel like God is not answering their prayers especially when there is a delay, we may feel like we want an answer to a prayer immediately but the answer might not come at that time, or might not come at all, this feeling usually makes us to doubt God or to question if our prayers are actually getting to God. So let’s see some of the things that may cause delay or hindrance to God in prayer and reasons God might choose not to answer a prayer or give us an answer immediately we ask for it, because mind you God already knows what you want to ask for even before you pray, so God can indeed answer immediately if he wants to.

Hindrance or Delay

If you guessed that sin can be a reason for this then you guessed right, as if we are Christians and we still have sin within us it can cause unanswered prayers or delay, God can be waiting for you to repent of that sin, and once that is done He can listen to your prayers and give you the answer when the time is right.

Still on the topic of sin, some believers who might not even have sin in their life's or have repented of the sin might still feel that there is still a sin that they might have done that they don’t know about or have not repented of. As believers we should know that it is not always sin that causes delay, it might just not be the right time for you to receive that thing you asked for, as it is said God’s timing is the best.

Another reason for God not answering a prayer can be that you are just not praying according to God’s will for your life, God might have even greater and better plans for you and you are praying to follow another part entirely, when God is trying to lead you to another part that will be better for you. So sometimes if you see that your prayer seems to be delayed or unanswered you can stop asking for that thing you want or that path you want to follow and ask God for what He wants for you and the part He wants for you, so that you can save yourself the stress of praying what is not God’s plan for you. So always be sure that you are listening to God and you are praying to Him according to his will for you.

Hope during waits

Whenever you have prayed for something and you have checked out on all that has been said below and nothing seems to change, you can just go into the presence of God with thanksgiving, just praise Him you don’t need to ask for anything, just praise and continue to praise Him and believe that your situation will indeed change as without faith it is impossible to please God. So be sure to have faith in God that He has heard you and He will answer your prayer at the right time and that He is leading you on the part that is best for you, as His plans for you are of Good and not of Evil.

Also trust in God’s love for you, once you know that God truly loves you and that everything He does for you is the best thing for you, then you can be able to have hope even in the “waiting room” for your prayers. So, always have it at the back of your mind that He is the same God that sacrificed His son for your redemption so you can be able to be with Him at the end of time or whenever you leave this world. He is that same God and He will never leave you nor forsake you. God is Love and He loves you more than you can imagine.

Whether your prayer is unanswered, hindered or delayed, don’t begin to doubt God or to doubt the effectiveness of prayer, look inward first and if there isn’t anything you can point your hands to, then ask it of God and continue to go to the place of prayer in thanksgiving and faith that He will answer your prayer and with the knowledge that His love for you surpasses all understanding and watch how hope comes even in that “waiting room”. No matter the situation don’t forget that God is there for you, as He will never leave you nor forsake you.
