ABORTION AND THE SANCTITY OF LIFE.

The topic of abortion is one that evokes strong emotions and heated arguments in the society.

At the heart of this issue lies the question of the sanctity of life – a philosophical and ethical concept that has been pondered for centuries.

WHAT IS ABORTION?

Abortion is the expulsion of a foetus or embryo from the womb before it is fully developed.

It is simply the termination of life before it's development.

Abortion is a multi faceted matter that intersects with religious beliefs,  individual rights , medical advancement and societal norms.

In this article, we will delve into all that surrounds abortion and its implications on the sanctity of life.

DEFINING THE SANCTITY OF LIFE.

The concept of the sanctity of life asserts that all human life is sacred and valuable, deserving respect and protection. That is all human life is meant to be given a chance of existence and survival.

This perspective often stems from religious teachings that emphasize the divine origin of life and the inherent dignity of every individual. A Human is the replica of God, created in His likeness and image.

Genesis 1:26

God said, “ Now we will make humans and they will be like us”. [ CEV version].

Abortion is against the principle of God,  who has given all humans the life they have in them.

Genesis 2:7 says,

“ The LORD God took some soil from the ground and made a man.  God breathe life into the man,  and the man started breathing”. [CEV version].

Abortion is terminating the life that God has breathe into.

ABORTION AND THE MORAL DILEMMA.

Abortion raises complex ethical questions, particularly when considering the sanctity of life. The central debate revolves around the point at which a foetus gains moral status and person hood.

Life begins at conception; therefore, abortion is morally impermissible.

Advocates of the sanctity of life argues that terminating a pregnancy is equivalent to ending a potential human life, which is absolutely true.

Life is a gift that should not be discarded.

Morally, abortion is an act that should not be allowed.

ABORTION AND THE SPIRITUAL DILEMMA.

If the moralist can advocate no to abortion, how much more the spiritual dilemma of abortion.  Abortion is wrong.  It is against the spiritual standard of God.

The Bible confirms that man should not murder another human.

The spiritual effect of this act is that it makes the Creator sad. Abortion saddens the one who has breathed Himself into every human. Therefore, killing humans breaks His heart.

IMPLICATIONS OF ABORTION.

1. The first implication of abortion is breaking the heart of God. Abortion is a sin and what sin does is to break God's heart.

2. It opens the woman to future health risks.

3. It increases infection rate.

4. It reduces the moral status of the society.

5. It increases complications in birth rate.

Abortion is not promoting the sanctity of all human life. Therefore it should be stopped.

Say no to abortion!
