Beyond the veil: experiencing God’s presence daily.

One particular incidence that stood out in the crucifixion of Jesus was the rending of the veils in the temple. Afore time, there was no privilege to enter into the temple by ordinary people, only the people designated for such roles have the privilege.

Now, here’s how I picture it. I get up in the morning, I want to commit my ways into God’s hands and probably offer a sacrifice unto Him. I have to go through my local priest, who in turn would go to the high priest, who then is able to take my request to God. He has some precautions to take too, to ensure everything goes well.

The scripture recorded it that, on the hour Jesus died, the clothes (curtain) of the temple tore into two, which signifies no more veil. No more limitations, we can now see Him face to face, we can experience His presence, face to face.

But then again, beyond that physical veil, is a veil in the hearts of everyone who’s yet to come into the light of God’s presence. There’s a blindness of heart that comes with being outside of God’s environment. To experience the reality of God’s presence, we have to approach Him with unveiled faces.

Isaiah was a man of many prophecies and visions. He did a lot of things before seeing the Lord. But in the day that he saw the Lord, in Isaiah chapter 6, his veil got lifted, and he was  able to know who he truly is in God, and He embraced the glory in God’s presence. So, it is safe to say we enter into God’s presence only when our veils have been taken away.

2 Corinthian3:16 and 18 says "Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the veil shall be taken away. But we all, with unveiled beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image, from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord."
