It’s a new year and I’m sure most of us have our new year resolutions, we’ve been reminded the promises from our Father in heaven, and we are in great form (in mind and in spirit) to take the wins that will come this year.
But while being caught in this euphoria we might tend to forget the challenges, trials and even tests we may also face this year. When you’re expecting every door to open in your favor but you’re not seeing that happen and after some time you tend to fall back into the slum of disappointment, relegation and low self-esteem, it may even cause a mental breakdown just like it might have occurred in the past years.
Then you fall back into the “next year will be my year” attitude or slogan. Even though nothing might change because you’re repeating the same mindset year in year out
Closed doors 🚪?
You might have thought God is all about opening doors for you, forgetting that the place you may see as an open door, God may see it as a dead end or a door that you’re not ready for.
I’m not saying you should lose all hope and start the year with a hopeless mindset, just don’t think that because it’s a new year your life will just suddenly be different, as the year is just earth’s complete rotation around the Sun.
Your focus
So, what should be your mindset be? what should you set your focus on? Firstly, know what God’s plan is for you, don’t just guess that this or that is a great opportunity and is therefore God’s plan for your life. Just as the Bible says, “There is a way that seems right unto a man, but the end thereof is destruction”.
While waiting
Even while you’re waiting for God’s plan still be up and doing, continue doing the productive and good things you’ve been doing, if you want to start new things, start it, it may be God that laid it in your heart and if it’s not that that’s God’s will for your life He will make it known to you.
Secondly, be more conscious of having a better life, not just because it’s a new year. Also, because it’s a new year doesn’t mean everything is just going to automatically change for you.
In conclusion, as it’s being said when one door closes another one is open, doors are there for us and we should trust God’s prerogative and wisdom on which door to open for us. In God we should all trust.
