It’s that time of the year again, when we celebrate the death and resurrection of Jesus as Christians or do we ? Most major Christian affiliated holidays or celebrations have become pretty global both for believers and non believers. We all may seem to celebrate the same holiday but it’s when you look at the crux of what they are celebrating with you tend to wonder if it’s the same holiday.
Also why does it seem like this major types of Christian holidays or celebrations usually have a pagan culture overlap? The answer to that is one I don’t know or might not be able to put into words. But if you read the article we released about Christmas and its pagan affiliation with even some hand in fiction, you should know I wrote that it basically depends on what you are celebrating.
Now the call being made to you now is that you don’t get carried away by the overlapping cultures of this world, so as not to defy the celebration and the purpose for it, so that God can indeed be glorified.
Falling away from the reason for the season might be easier that you think, as global pressure is definitely bigger than peer pressure, when it becomes like those traditions of men have become a norm, we tend to be driven away from why we are celebrating or what we are even doing.
Even though it may seem like Christmas is actually a bigger holiday than Easter, one could say that Easter is actually a more sacred celebration as it was one of the events He told us to remember, we should indeed keep the santity of every Christian affiliated holiday, but I felt like that was worthy of note.
So while you celebrate do not be carried away by the traditions of men or forget the reason for the season, let Jesus be glorified and Him alone.
