Living Letters: How Our Lives Preach the Gospel

I believe there are some hymns, songs , sermons or even scripture passages that tell us to show Christianity in the life we live, Christianity is even sometimes referred to as more than a religion but a lifestyle. If you remember in the Bible some of the disciples of Jesus were first called Christians in the Bible in Antioch, the people of Antioch probably called them that because of the way they saw them live and behave as it was Christ like, which means the way we live our lives and the way people see us is very important in Christianity as it’s the life that even made the word to be coined in the first place.

So since we have seen that our lives should indeed reflect our beliefs, it shows that we can also preach the gospel even without words, but just by living the life God had called us unto, with the help of the Holy Spirit unbelievers around us can come to having the desire to emulate that lifestyle, and be drawn to the Jesus you openly or silently preach, fulfilling the great commission one lifestyle at a time.

So before you look outwards to supposed sinners you are meant to be preaching to, look inwards if your life is reflecting Christ, so that your words can have more weight and you won’t be a “spiritual agbero” as it is sometimes called when someone is leading others to Christ but is not living the life of Christ. So use the Bible as a mirror for your life and examine it with the help of the Holy Spirit so that you can also be a carrier of the living letters just as we have in the topic.

The concept of living letters isn’t something to really rack your head for, it’s pretty much just when the letters of the Bible ( like God’s promises, commandments, precepts, status) are brought alive in you, when you are a walking carrier of His grace so much that people can see His word through you, through the way you live thereby bringing about living letters.

So, once again examine your live and if you feel like you’re coming short of God’s will for your life ask God to give you grace so as to be a humble carrier of His living letters, and so that you can be a part of the fulfilment of the great commission.

Shalom Shalom !!!
