God is always on the look out for men and women to use on earth, vessels who will represent him in different sectors of life, holding on to their consecration and contributing to His agenda of making the earth a colony of heaven. Over the years, since the time of the scripture, He has proven himself to be an unquestionable and unpredictable God and it has been clearly established that His ways aren't our ways nor His plans ours. This has been proven by how He uses people to establish and propagate His agenda here on earth. He created everyone with a specific purpose and mandate and He has communicated this to us that no matter how ordinary your birth, place of birth or background is, they don’t determine how excellently He can use you. His plan will surely come to reality as long as you choose to walk in it.
Many people are out there living recklessly, because in their wiring lives a stereotype that there's nothing extra about them. They think that it takes a big name to do big things in God. They write themselves off because through their lens, there's no investment God has made in them to be an extraordinary vessel, based on their environment and life experiences. Therefore, leaving the potentials placed in them to bring forth greatness in the kingdom locked up and untapped.
Throughout the pages of the scripture are men who out of nothing rose to fulfill God's purpose for their life. Let's dive into these biblical characters who through the mercy of God moved from ordinary to extra ordinary and pick out lessons we can apply to live in God's plan for our life; Gideon, a weak, frail and fragile young man who was full of fear was assigned to lead a movement that was beyond the knowledge of his identity. His eyes were opened to the depth of strength he carried, which he knew not until God showed up and enlightened his eyes to see the extraordinary strength he carried. This explains to us that in that nothing you see, in that emptiness you feel, lies greatness and strength enough to impact and become a source of blessing to your generation.
Let's checkout this woman of grace called Queen Esther; No big name, no rich uncle, no smooth beginning, yet lives were saved through her. Her generation and lineage were positively affected by her life of sacrifice and consecration. Out of the ashes, the Lord raised her and set her feet on a place of authority, giving her the grace to wield her power to bring to reality God's will for his beloved ones. Don't write yourself of; Trust the process and allow God to mould your natural to supernatural. Your life is a valuable and unique treasure in God's hand. This is saying that God has been in the business of making out extraordinary out of the ordinary. Making use of those who have been written off to achieve great and mighty things.
Also, the mighty men of David were once vagabonds and homeless, less privileged with nothing noble about them, but God's mercy found them. He sent them to cave of Adullam, where they were equipped and trained for His purpose for their lives and out of their nothingness rose mighty warriors who fought for the Lord and established His name in their days.
The biggest of these examples is Jesus Christ, who was born in the manger, nothing noble about His birthplace, the son of an ordinary carpenter, but He became the saviour of the whole world, reconciled us back to God and gave us reasons to live, making meaningful things out of our lives, guiding and directing us in treading the right path for our lives. This explains the mystery of God's greatness.
Dear reader, God is intentional about your life and He's interested in making out of you great and mighty things. He has raised men of the past generations out of nothing to bring glory to His name and He's not done. We've seen Him do this in the life of His generals. "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope." Jeremiah 29: 11(NKJV). “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” Jeremiah 1: 5 (NIV).
Here are the promises of God to you as His child, dwell and ponder on these promises and hold unto Him while He makes you a productive and honourable vessel in his hand. If and only if you will tarry and wait on Him to make the best out of you, the Lord has done it before and He will still do it. You’re not too ordinary to be used. He created you wonderfully and fearfully for His pleasure. Embrace God's grace and let Him mould you to a vessel unto honour in his vineyard.
